Type-AS 75 Zan Soukou by Rekkou Type-AS 75 Zan Soukou by Rekkou
Despite being sounds as if it was Zan's variation, Zan Soukou actually a standard operation Zan, most soldier prefer to just called it Zan despite the additional equipment, Zan Soukou means "Armed" Zan

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zan with its standard armament, as :iconcrescentraven: suggestion the elbow joint is a bit modified for better articulation (though it's really minor that you might not noticed it) and a pair of vulcan was added to the chest. LoL the torso must look alike Lizard or Frog head now and another lol for obvious Kamen Rider Hibiki name reference. Further specs will be explained after coloring.

Yes, many said that, probably because of the leg & color, but for those who like Japanese culture will realize it's highly derived from Japanese Samurai Armor [link]

I am especially fond of the weapons choice for this variation! It's nice to see a mecha with physical weapons mounted as opposed to everything being a laser-something-or-other.

One issue I have with your work, though it's amazing...

The feet are way too small. Gundams naturally have huge feet.

It's not so much a matter of style. I admit, your style is closer to the human form, but Gundams need the larger feet as part of their designs. It's more of an anatomical issue than stylistic.

But as you said, it's your style, and your decision.

in case you didn't know Zan is not a mobile suit and not even made for Gundam series, so i don't have any obligation to follow any gundam standard design and honestly there's actually no standard within gundam design, very design have very personal value depends on the designer, large feet is considered to be standard just because it's Kunio Okawara or Hajime Katoki's style, some mecha designer like Takayuki Yanase or Kenki Fujioka also uses small foot design like i do, but don't worry i'm not that blockhead i'm a designer not an artist if the design require larger feet i'll gladly apply it

nice balance and the color job does it justice. only thing that bugs me is the blue I gues lights on the lower body, since you can't see any on the upper body it kinda looks out of place, I would have went with orange there myself.

I have to ask, is that two beam saber hilts sticking out from behind the shoulder shield under the wakahazi? (gotta love my crappy spelling)

:iconrekkou:
Rekkou Featured By Owner Sep 10, 2009  Professional Digital Artist
there's actually 2 at the shoulders too, but probably still unbalanced compared to the bottom area, i'll probably edit it later

And no it's just a connector to connect the shield to the hard point

Looks even better with that shield, it really reminded me of a ninja (a real one) wen i saw the Type-A version, but that similtude is even more visible now.
Really impressive, looks though, agile and stylish.
